i3 Mobile, Inc. (Nasdaq: IIIM), a leading provider of innovative wireless media solutions, today announced that Wes Trager has joined the company as Chief Technology Officer. Trager will direct the development and technical implementation of i3 Mobile's wireless data products and services.

"Wes is a true innovator who provides the vision to take i3 Mobile's technology to the next level," said John Lack, president and CEO of i3 Mobile. " He brings a proven track-record of creating breakthrough technologies and defining industry standards that will put i3 Mobile at the forefront of the emerging wireless data services market."

Trager, 48, joins i3 Mobile from Global Payment Technologies (GPT). As Vice President of Engineering, he helped reorganize GPT's product development and engineering departments, leading to innovative process improvements in the design and delivery of technology solutions for the gaming industry. Trager also served on the boards of several organizations committed to developing standards for the industry, including two years as technology chairman for the Gaming Manufacturers Association.

Prior to joining GPT, Trager served for eight years at Acclaim Entertainment. As Acclaim's Vice President of Advanced Technologies, he formed the specialized Advanced Technologies Group, which, together with Biomechanics, Inc., created innovative, award-winning motion capture technologies for the interactive video game and entertainment industries. This special effects technology has allowed motion picture producers to create movie scenes and actions involving computer generated characters that are virtually indistinguishable on-screen from the actors themselves. This technology has gained wide acceptance in the industry and has been used in numerous motion pictures produced by major studios.

Trager's role in developing and advancing this technology was instrumental in Acclaim receiving top honors and industry recognition at technical conferences around the world, including SIGGRAPH (USA), NICOGRAPH (Japan), IMAGINA (France) and LEAF (London).
