Location Technology
The KSI Inc.l concept is based on a network of fixed receivers, called Sensor Stations, typically co-located with the existing wireless infrastructure. Each of the Sensor Stations can be tuned to measure location-related characteristics of the signal transmissions from a mobile phone or device. The signal measurements are relayed to a central station that calculates the location of the phone. This information is then passed on to the appropriate emergency response center or other client.
With a single common receiver, a scalable number of DSP units can be provided to simultaneously extract and process the required number of channels. The basic receiver configuration supports both a fully sectored and an omni-directional deployment.
