The Venti Antenna - A Newly Discovered Inno'Venti've Antenna

The Venti Group has invented the Venti Antenna that delivers signal reception and performance that will change the way we think about wireless connectivity.

Making the Impossible, Possible!

Ever been dropped in the middle of the most important phone call of your life? Ever struggled downloading pictures or uploading data between wireless devices?

Wireless data transfers and dropped signals have been an industry-wide problem for many years. Antennas used in today's wireless products are the cause of the poor coverage and limitations on data downloads and uploads. Why are wireless products being controlled by inadequate antenna technology that is close to 60 years old while all other wireless technology is straight from the 21st century?"

What do these limitations mean for consumers? All manufacturers are trying to solve transferring today's larger and larger audio and video files, which strain both transmitting and receiving WiFi capable devices. As an example, in a recent Engadget article, Chris Ziegler addresses Verizon recently released Femtocell saying that the "Wireless Network Extender is cool and all, but it's got one huge Achilles' heel: it only does 1X data, which is pretty egregious by 2010 standards (or 2007 standards, for that matter)."

Making a leap of antenna technology into the 21st century has enormous implications. After decades of virtually no change in antenna technology, that is exactly what The Venti™ Group has done with the Venti Antenna (http://www.ventiantenna.com).

The Venti Group has invented an antenna that delivers signal reception and performance that will change the way we think about wireless connectivity. In a 35-page report on The Venti Antenna, Dr. Andreas Molisch, one of the foremost architects of WiFi and WiFi Standards, described how solving these issues in new devices would bring the standard of wireless devices to a completely new level. Needless to say, this new technology is catching the eyes of leading wireless manufacturers around the world.

The Venti Solution

In simple terms, the Venti Group antenna technology brings to the wireless world, advances in performance that have been unobtainable in consumer & enterprise electronics, due to price & size constraints. The Venti Antenna has overcome these obstacles; and by doing so, it delivers significant and revolutionary upgrades (performance, size and cost) to current antenna technology.

Clear and Complete Coverage

One of the basic advances is that the Venti Antenna produces a near perfect horizontally polarized circular (omnidirectional) radiation pattern. This alone provides complete coverage, eliminating dead spots in homes and offices, as well as eliminating dropped signals (caused by multipath dropouts). Because of its signal characterization (horizontal polarization), the Venti Antenna also does away with man-made interference and noise.

Increased Data Throughput

The Venti Antenna doubles data transfer rates without compromise to any other transmission factors. Multiple Venti Antennas will actually provide a doubling (or more) of the current data transmission speed. By increasing the rate of how we download data wirelessly, the Venti Antenna sets a new standard of performance in all wireless electronic devices including WiFi routers, TVs, Digital Cameras, Blu-ray Players, Smart Phones and all other wireless products.

No Compromises

For wireless manufacturers, the cost of the Venti Antenna ranges from almost nothing (when applied directly to an existing PC board) to about $0.04 when printed on an independent PCB or produced in chip form. The Venti Antenna printed on a PCB is as thin as a business card and smaller than a dime. The Venti Antenna requires no metal backing plate (ground plane) or balun. This allows designers the freedom of expression and form with the user in mind, not the device. The Venti Antenna provides all these advantages without any trade-offs or compromises in other performance.

Specific Applications of The Venti Antenna

  • Femtocells & Picocells
  • WiFi enabled devices including Bluetooth devices
  • WiFi Routers, End & Access Points
  • TV, Home Entertainment, DVD & DVR
  • Laptops
  • Tablets
  • Smartphones
  • LTE
  • WiMax
  • Gaming
  • Backhaul equipment and cell tower equipment
  • Wireless Devices: Cordless Phones including DECT, GPS, Automotive Radar, Automotive information and entertainment devices, Satellite, Point-to-Point devices and other Wireless products

Technical Benefits of The Venti Antenna

  • Pairing the Venti Antenna with a vertical antenna will double data rates. The two signal branches, stemming from the two orthogonal polarizations, can be used not only for diversity, but also for spatial multiplexing, i.e., different data streams can be transmitted on the two polarization directions.
  • The Omni directional signal pattern produced by the Venti Antenna eliminates the interference in the downlink of cellular system coverage.
  • The 20mm thickness of the Venti Antenna and small diameter coupled with the fact that no ground-plane or balun is required, allows for added design freedom, permitting designers and engineers to place the antenna where it makes most sense for production and design.
  • For WiFi enabled applications, the reception/transmission of horizontally polarized radiation is of great importance, either because it provides additional signal energy (thus providing higher SNR and better coverage), or by allowing reception of a (partially) independently fading signal path, which in turn can be exploited for polarization diversity or spatial multiplexing.
