Echo Control and Voice-Quality Enhancement System

The VERITY 3100 system, is a high-density T1 and E1 echo control and voice-quality enhancement (VQE) solution that helps digital wireless and long-distance service providers improve voice quality and network performance. The system provides optimal call quality and dependable data transmission over T1 and E1 trunk lines, while using less floor space.

The system provides a high-density echo cancellation platform that incorporates enhancements for processing 64 T1 or E1 network interfaces in a 19-inch American National Standards Institute (ANSI) shelf system. A seven-foot rack holds six systems to accommodate 384 T1 or E1 trunks.

In addition to removing hybrid echo caused by electrical coupling at 2wire-to-4wire conversion points in the public switched telephone network, optional voice-quality enhancements are available with the system. Level control optimizes speech levels by automatically compensating for extremely high or low audio levels that may be present at network interfaces. Acoustic control provides protection from acoustic echo generated in wireless handsets and noise reduction reduces the background noise typically found in wireless environments. In addition, the Tel/mor(TM) Element Management System (EMS) centrally manages and configures the system using graphical user interface software. The system will be available in the third quarter.
