The PATHmaster Multi-link DSU/CSU and Micro DACS is an intelligent compact device that switches, grooms or bypasses any combination of 56/64 Kbps timeslots. The DCS supports either 4 or 2 T1/E1 circuits and includes integral CSU circuitry. Two V.35/RS530 high speed data ports, with integral DSUs, provide users the ability to drop and insert local data into unused timeslots. All of the features of the PATHmaster are soft programmable, eliminating the need to set or change any switch settings to reconfigure the unit.

Mulitiple configurations can be stored in non-volatile memory. These may be invoked manually or upon user defined conditions. This provides the ability to automatically reroute and or vary link or channel parameters based on link failure or user defined thresholds.

The PATHmaster has been designed to be easily configured and managed. Any SNMP based element manager, VT100 terminal, or PC with terminal emulator accesses all management functions, including alarm screens, configuration commands, and diagnostics. The management port may be accessed locally or remotely via an external modem.

The PATHmaster is a highly integrated single module solution that can either function as a stand alone unit or be fully integrated with additional PATHmaster modules or other MASTER Series products in any Paragon multi-slot enclosure such as the ACCESSmaster system. Hardware investment is protected as user networking needs change.
