PageGate Paging Engine
PageGate is a paging gateway that takes input from any of the front-end modules (in this case email and the web) and sends the messages to paging service providers via modem or direct connection. With the exception of the user licenses, there is no limit to the number of pagers or service providers supported. Licenses are required for the number of pagers setup in the paging engine software. The engine can run on an existing file or web server, or can be run on a separate workstation or server.
Web Server Interface
The web front-end allows individuals to send pages via personal websites on an intranet or the internet. The paging engine will automatically generate personal web pages from templates, or custom web pages can be used. This interface uses a CGI script to allow a web server to take information entered on a web page and send it to the PageGate Paging Engine. A copy of the message can then be forwarded to an email account.
Email Interface
The email front-end takes incoming email and sends a copy to the PageGate Paging Engine, and ultimately to an alphanumeric pager. Notification of newly received email may also be sent to numeric pagers. The mail messages can be forwarded to an additional email account. This front-end includes a fully functional mail server and may be used by itself or in conjunction with existing mail servers. The email interface uses the mdaemon mail server which should be registered separately with Deerfield Communication (please note our pricing does not include the mail server)
Additional Dialers
For high volume applications, additional dialer engines can be installed. This will allow the PageGate Paging Engine to simultaneously dial out to more than one carrier at a time, or to make multiple connections to the same carrier. Up to a total of 4 dialers can be used simultaneously.
