2-Way AIM Protocol Tester

Racal Instruments Inc.st System is a member of the ProCLAIME series of protocol testers and provides the user with full bi-directional layer 2 and layer 3 monitoring capability for the Um interface in a GSM based digital radio environment. This test tool provides all the facilities needed to monitor, debug and fault find protocol interchanges on the Um interface at layers 2 and 3.

The tester is comprised of a rack mounted 6113 digital radio BTS test with a 6103 digital radio MS test set and an RF interface assembly, which provides a duplex input point from the test network environment. A simplex interface is also provided for use when air interface logging in live networks is required. A wide range of input levels from both the BTS and the MS is accommodated by the RF interface assembly, in conjunction with external attenuators.
