These new customers are early adopters of ART's new high-speed broadband service, which debuted on Sept. 18, 2000. This product offers connectivity from 3 to 10 Mb/s directly to business users and is designed to further strengthen office building penetration in markets where ART currently operates. In addition to orders for the new service, ART has recently received 30 orders from its wholesale channel partners for service in Phoenix, AZ; San Jose and San Diego, CA; and Portland and Seattle, WA.
"We are very encouraged by the early adoption of our service among the growing number of companies who see fixed broadband wireless as the wave of the future," said Wharton ("Zie") Rivers Jr., ART's CEO. "It is also very much in keeping with our strategic goal of aggressively driving revenue in on-net markets. Our direct product is the perfect complement to our core business of selling higher capacity bandwidth—today up to OC-3, or 155 Mb/s, connectivity—to regional and national Internet Service Providers and carriers."
