Advanced Wireless Systems makes changes to Board

WJCI announces general availability of wireless Internet transceivers for Cisco broadband fixed wireless solution
SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. /PRNewswire/ -- Advanced Wireless Systems, Inc. announced today that three of its Board of Directors have resigned and three new Board members have been appointed to fill the vacancies.

Monte Julius, Demetrios Tsoutsas and David Schlueter, Ph.D. resigned as Board members on January 29, 2001 in order to create three vacancies for new directors Stan Wilson, Esq., Tom Howard, CPA and Jeffrey Schneider. Wilson is currently President of AWSS and Howard is currently Chief Financial Officer of AWSS. The Board also appointed Wilson Chairman. Mr. Schneider is President of the RAP Group, Inc., a company which is being acquired by Advanced Wireless. The RAP Group Inc. acquisition is in the final phases of completion. RAP posted gross revenues of $7.2 million for the year ended December 31, 2000. The RAP Group is located in Fulton, California.

In announcing the resignations and appointments, Stan Wilson stated: "We wish to thank Demetrios Tsoutsas, Monte Julius and Dave Schlueter for their dedication and hard work on behalf of the company." He noted that Mr. Tsoutsas and Mr. Julius were instrumental in the creation of AWSS and shepherding it into public company status. He further acknowledged Dr. Schlueter's role in coordinating the acquisition of Digital Wireless Systems, Inc. (DWSI) which expanded AWSS' telecommunications assets, as well as expanding the shareholder base of the company by 3,750. Wilson said, "The DWSI acquisition by the Company expanded our MMDS territories by bringing in markets in Baton Rouge and Shreveport, Louisiana; Clarksville, Tennessee; and Reading, Pennsylvania." Prior to the acquisition of Digital Wireless Systems, Inc., AWSS' only MMDS system was located in Mobile, Alabama.
