Just a few days ago, Air2Web, Inc. (Atlanta, GA) launched a wireless application solution that allows organizations to extend their eBusiness initiatives to deliver wireless applications that support any carrier, network, device or location. Now, Sprint PCS (Kansas City, MO) has designated Air2Web as a solutions provider for its enterprise customers. Air2Web's Always Interactive platform will enable Sprint PCS business clients to customize and extend existing data applications wirelessly directly to mobile employees on the minibrowser of their phones. Applications include inventory databases, reservation tracking systems, and sales automation tools

"Fortune 1000 companies are in a race to determine their wireless data strategies for interacting with their mobile employees and customers through wireless devices," said Sanjoy Malik, Air2Web president and chief executive officer. "Air2Web will eliminate the complexities of deploying wireless solutions for Sprint PCS customers by providing customized applications that work on multiple devices, protocols, and networks, in addition to being hosted on a secure, reliable, and scalable platform. Air2Web provides the total solution."

Sprint PCS and Air2Web are currently working with businesses to develop and implement wireless data applications.

Services suite
The Always Interactive suite of services is carrier- and network-independent and enables organizations to create, deploy, and deliver their branded applications to customers using all types of wireless devices from WAP and SMS phones, to pagers and pervasive computing devices. The platform supports interactive text and audio applications across a range of wireless devices including one-way SMS. Air2Web provides state-of-the-art application hosting with day-to-day applications management and continuous support.

"The intersection of Internet and eBusiness with digital wireless networks and mobile devices creates dramatic potential," Malik said. "This market intersection drives two types of development need: wireless interactivity and the business logic for mobile customers. Air2Web provides interactivity across all digital wireless devices and allows a developer to concentrate on the mobile business logic—the key interactions with customers."

Air2Web supports interactive applications that make devices and networks transparent. By writing an application to the Air2Web open platform, it is possible to build wireless applications in as simple or sophisticated a format as desired. This translates to sending a simple flight cancellation notice, allowing a workgroup to re-schedule a meeting remotely, or transferring funds between bank accounts.

The company provides wireless application services through a published interface and actively recruits developers to use this interface for their wireless web work. Air2Web offers complete training programs as well as ongoing developer support to enable state-of-the-art wireless solutions for businesses around the globe.
