Andrew signs $23 million amplifier agreement with Lucent

<%=company1%> (Murray Hill, NJ) has awarded Andrew Corp. (Orland Park, IL) an initial $3 million order as part of a $23 million letter of agreement for the development and supply of single-channel PCS-TDMA linear power amplifiers. Andrew will deliver the first consignment of prototype amplifiers to Lucent in September 2000 and will move into full production at the beginning of 2001. Lucent will use the amplifiers in its TDMA PCS Minicell systems solutions.

Andrew Corporation's Broadband Wireless Products Group supplies integrated RF components, high power amplifiers, and systems for wireless, MMDS, and LMDS markets. In September 1999, the company acquired Chesapeake Technologies Inc., a company with unique design expertise in high power Gallium Arsenide and silicon power transistor technology. This technology improves the linearity and reliability of RF and microwave amplifiers for cellular, PCS, and GSM markets.
