AOL Mobile Communicator debuts on BSWD's network

The BellSouth Intelligent Wireless Network from BellSouth Wireless Data, a member of the Cingular Wireless family, is hosting America Online's new AOL Mobile Communicator device. The new device, enabled for AOL's communications services, is now commercially available over the intelligent wireless network.

AOL members will be able to check their e-mail quickly and easily and exchange instant messages using their AOL Buddy List via the BellSouth network-enabled wireless handheld that features a full keyboard. AOL members will be able to use mobile communicator nationwide as BellSouth Wireless Data provides coverage in 492 Metropolitan Statistical Areas (MSAs) and non-MSAs throughout the United States.

The core of the network is the power behind BellSouth Wireless Data's services under BellSouth MyBiz Interactive, including Interactive Messaging PLUS, as well as such cutting-edge solutions as the Palm VII connected organizer, Fidelity InstantBroker, and the BlackBerry wireless e-mail solution.
