Azalea Networks Deploys Its 'Intelligent' Broadband Wireless Network Technology In China's City Of Hangzhou
Milpitas, CA - Azalea Networks, a leading innovator in wireless network equipment and technology, recently announced a broadband wireless network deployment covering key areas throughout the City of Hangzhou in eastern China. This represents the latest in a series of wireless deployments.
After successful deployments in Beijing, Shanghai, and Yangzhou, Azalea's wireless Hangzhou network will provide wireless coverage in key areas including major highways and tourist venues. The project is part of a major undertaking by the Hangzhou Municipal Government in 2008. The primary application will be to serve police and public safety personnel, but the flexibility and scalability of the Azalea solution will allow it to be used to deliver enhanced services to customers of Huashu Digital Television Company, a major cable television provider in China, and a partner with Azalea in establishing the network for the Hangzhou project.
Contracted by Huashu, Azalea will provide its wireless routing equipment and provide technical support throughout the deployment. Huashu, the major operator for Hangzhou's digital television development, has been engaged in the development of digital television since its inception and is now focusing on the transformation of digital television to wireless, mobile television and IT applications.
John Elms, Azalea Networks CEO, commented, "Azalea's unique wireless mesh solution will provide Hangzhou government officials with the wireless communications they need and give Huashu the flexibility to offer future services to their customer base." He added, "This opens the door to quick return on investment for Huashu as a service provider."
