BAM's 100% ownership includes the previous acquisition (Sept. 7, 1999) of the Portland and Lewiston-Auburn wireless market, during which BAM acquired 33.33% interest of Lewiston-Auburn Cellular Inc. With this acquisition of 100% ownership, BAM can begin to market wireless service under its own name.
BAM's $14 million investment will improve wireless coverage in the Maine cities of Gray, Lisbon Falls, New Gloucester, Poland, Raymond, South Portland, Standish, Topsham, and Windhamm.

BAM also has introduced SingleRate East plans, which are designed for customers who travel mainly throughout the East Coast. The flat-rate plans include allowances of bundled minutes that travel with customers up and down the East Coast with no roaming and long distance charges.

SingleRate East offers four plans starting at $39.99 a month, with 90 minutes of local calling included and no roaming or long distance charges for calls made from the company's Maine to northern Georgia service territory to anywhere in the country.
