Cambium Networks To Showcase New Indoor And Outdoor Wi-Fi Solutions At Interop Tokyo

Cambium Networks, a leading global provider of wireless networking solutions, will be showing its new and comprehensive 802.11ac Wave 2 Access Points (APs), software features, and management capabilities for its cnPilot Wi-Fi products at Interop Tokyo at Makuhari Messe June 7-9. The indoor and outdoor APs offer high-speed access, including cloud controller capabilities, making it easier than ever for enterprises and service providers to expand Wi-Fi connectivity in a very affordable manner.

“These 802.11ac cnPilot Wi-Fi solutions are proven in schools, hotels, retail stores, event venues and public Wi-Fi networks around the world,” said Atul Bhatnagar, President and CEO of Cambium Networks. “Japan is a key market for cnPilot. We are seeking select channel partners to market, sell and support our world-class cnPilot Wi-Fi products, and our affordable and high quality cnPilot solutions are a great match for the Japanese market that expects nothing but quality.”

“We recommend cnPilot E400 enterprise Wi-Fi indoor modules and E500 enterprise Wi-Fi outdoor modules, with an ePMP distribution network, managed by the cnMaestro management system,” said Bruce McGregor, General Manager, Southern Rework, a major system integrator in Australia. “This package of technology is proven to be reliable and cost-effective and is now deployed for business and industrial customers in more than 50 sites on Australia's Eastern Seaboard.”

Cambium Networks has had recent successes in the Japanese market with its PTP 650 point-to-point wireless backhaul link. The PTP 650 is the industry leading sub-6 GHz Point-to-Point wireless Ethernet bridge used by Tier 1 network operators globally to extend their network to remote locations. Capable of supporting up to 450 Mbps, and bridging distances up to 245 km, the PTP 650 also includes advanced capabilities like IEEE 1588 v2, Synchronous Ethernet, and Dynamic Spectrum Optimization (DSO); and has won industry awards for throughput and spectral efficiency.

“We have been supplying PTP 650 to tier 1 network operators for wireless back haul between the numerous remote island chains and mainland Japan,” said Hitoshi Matsui, Wireless Systems Department Manager, Hytec Inter, Japan. “By adopting PTP 650 we have been able to achieve much higher throughput over the long distance links than before whilst maintaining a robust connection with spatial diversity. We believe this is premium grade solution and plan to roll it out to similar applications across Japan.”

Cost-Effective and Reliable Wi-Fi Performance
Cambium Networks’ cnPilot indoor and outdoor 802.11ac Wi-Fi solutions provide high performance and savings stand out. In enterprise applications of 20 APs or more, an operator can outfit a facility for 50 percent less than most other quality brands.

Hardware:

  • E410 – indoor enterprise 2x2 802.11ac Wave 2 dual band access point
  • E600 – indoor enterprise 4x4 802.11ac Wave 2 dual band access point, with Bluetooth, USB and dual Gigabit Ethernet ports
  • E501S – outdoor 802.11ac IP67 enterprise Wi-Fi with a built-in sector antenna
  • R190 – 802.11n indoor home and small business single band router for ISP-managed home Wi-Fi

Management Software:

  • cnMaestro Managed Service Provider (MSP) – simplifies configuration, upgrade and monitoring processes to scale enterprise managed services business for MSPs enabling frictionless operations

Frictionless Adaptive Architecture
Cambium’s unique adaptive architecture provides three flexible ways to deploy controller-managed networks:

  1. Cloud controller
  2. Local controller
  3. The new autoPilot autonomous management option

“autoPilot makes the controller deployment easy and affordable,” said Vibhu Vivek, Senior Vice President of Products, Cambium Networks. “With autoPilot, the Wi-Fi AP is the controller, supporting 32 APs or 1,000 clients. This solution has no license or recurring fees while still offering investment protection to the Wi-Fi network administrator, with the option to migrate to a cloud or local controller solution when needed.”
