Centurion introduces two new antennas for Bluetooth applications
"Centurion has designed and developed antennas for Bluetooth applications in the marketplace, in concert with the major OEMs since the conception of the Bluetooth technology," said Dax Craig, vice president of sales and marketing for Centurion. "Currently we're designing and manufacturing antennas for Bluetooth applications for several OEM customers."
The BlueChip antenna is an internal antenna that offers high-gain performance (>2.0 dBi) with a wide bandwidth. It's small and lightweight with PCB surface mount--applicable in vertical or horizontal positions without sacrificing performance--and can be delivered in tape and reel packaging. The MicroBlue antenna features one of the smallest footprints of its type at .03" thick, and it provides 3 dBI gain. The MicroBlue is customizable for high-volume embedded applications in either board- or cable-mount configurations.
The BlueChip and MicroBlue antennas cover a frequency range from 2.4 to 2.5 GHz and are omnidirectional along the azimuth plane. The Bluetooth and WLAN applications include IEEE 802.11, HomeRF and Open Air.
Centurion's line of products for Bluetooth applications features a wide range of off-the-shelf designs, which can also be customized, to meet a variety of requirements for external or internal mountings, size and performance, including several other Bluetooth antennas. "The engineering teams at our worldwide facilities work closely with product developers to design and manufacture the optimum external or internal antenna solution," Craig said. "Centurion's global footprint enables us to quickly ramp up and meet high volume customer product needs for any time zone.
