CNN Interactive, ATX Strike Telematics Deal

<%=company1%> (ATX; San Antonio, TX) and CNN Interactive have agreed to make CNN Mobile content and services available to ATX's telematics customers. The two will market these services in both automotive and wireless industries.

ATX uses telematics—the combination of telecommunications, location-identification technology, and computing—to offer such services as safety and security, as well as navigation and traffic. For example, the services include automatic collision notification, routing assistance, real-time traffic alerts, and roadside assistance—all of which can be bundled with news and information from CNN Mobile. The content, including news, weather, sports and related information services, will be available to ATX's telematics subscribers later this year as part of a bundled package of location-based information services.

The content is optimized for SMS delivery and also is Wireless Application Protocol (WAP)- compliant. The use of WAP technology will allow CNN Interactive to develop multimedia content for delivery to the screens of WAP devices.
