Coastcom
In 1982, the company introduced its first drop-and-insert multiplexer, the D/I Mux, which soon became the standard for AT&T Information Systems' private label Channel Division Multiplexer. The D/I Mux also was widely used for private network applications in the utility, pipeline, and transportation industries. The second-generation D/I Mux-E, which incorporated a number of customer-oriented enhancements, followed in 1985. The success of these cutting-edge products was further solidified in the '90s with the introduction of the D/I Mux III family, a high-end, cost-effective T1 access multiplexer that has won acclaim as a private label best-seller, as well as in direct distribution to major private and public networks.
Today, Coastcom maintains its aggressive new product development program, assuring that its leadership role in the T1 access market will continue for years to come. The company's current engineering, manufacturing, and testing site at its Alameda, California headquarters was designed to facilitate new product development. A sampling includes: D/I Mux III Intelligent T1 Multiplexers with ISDN and SNMP features; MX Series off-premise extenders for Meridian remote connectivity; and the FLIU fiber optic interface for applications such as Advanced Traffic Management Systems (ATMS).
Coastcom's history of product innovation has secured the company an impressive list of customers including inter-exchange carriers, Regional Bell Operating Companies, independent telephone companies, federal and state governments, as well as a wide range of private network users. The company markets its products throughout North America through a variety of channels which include OEM relationships, direct sales, distributors, and Value Added Resellers.
