The HomeRF Compact Flash is a wirefree compact flash adapter that will enable more people to connect without wires in the home and enterprise using Internet appliances, palm computers and other consumer electronics devices that connect to the Internet and intranets.

At less than 20 grams, and measuring 36 by 42 by 5 mm, the device is a full-featured wireless LAN adapter that is 78% smaller and 36% lighter than a standard PC card. The adapter also offers low power consumption, with a 40% to 45% improvement over the draw of wireless LAN PC cards. The size, weight and low power consumption of this new adapter will enable consumer and commercial device manufacturers to develop small, easily portable devices for Internet and intranet connectivity. The adapter is also compatible with the OpenAir standard, for interoperability with RangeLAN2 and other OpenAir-compatible devices. The wireless adapter is available now to OEMs incorporating wirefree connectivity into their devices, including Internet appliances, handheld computers and other consumer electronics.
