The Connectivity Toolkit enables CDMA phone users to configure their phones as wireless modems, to fax documents wirelessly from their PCs, to manage contact directories and other personal data stored within the phone, and to import contacts from Palm and Microsoft contact manager applications. The kit consists of a serial cable, a null modem adapter and a CD-ROM containing contact management applications and the QuickLink software solution.

Enhancements to the toolkit include the QuickLink Mobile 2000 software solution, which provides a wizard program that guides users through the process of installing their wireless phone as a device on a personal computer. The software provides "device dashboard" of critical phone metrics, such as signal strength, battery strength and call duration, and the ability to control graphic content downloads to maximize wireless throughput. In addition, the software allows the user to see the number and size of new email messages, thereby allowing the user to manage wireless e-mail downloads. A companion program enables wireless fax capability for wireless phones.

The toolkit will be available as an accessory for the new QCP 2035 and QCP 3035 CDMA digital wireless phones and as an accessory from service providers and consumer electronics retailers.
