Four-way alliance targets wireless data communications
The software developed by Cross Communications features HipLink Production Paging/PCS Software that allows large and small companies to use WebLink Wireless' 2-Way wireless data network to monitor any of their networks, systems or equipment ranging from their corporate network to their air conditioning.
RPA's role in the WebLink Enterprise Solutions Partner (ESP) program is as a universal gateway for wireless messages. To WebLink Wireless corporate customers, that means providing the ability to send and receive messages to and from multiple devices simultaneously over multiple networks. RPA Wireless accomplishes this by taking a message and converting it to the appropriate protocol for each wireless network.
Helping solve a corporate customer's connectivity issues, the Veriprise Wireless Platform lets WebLink Wireless customers quickly and easily extend their corporate information to their wireless 2-Way devices. So whether on Siebel, Oracle, Lotus, legacy systems or others, mobile business workers can easily conduct business transactions, perform real-time queries for relevant business information and access reports.
"It is key for us to have strong software developers such as Cross Communications, RPA Wireless and Veriprise as part of the WebLink Wireless ESP program," said Doug Glen, WebLink Wireless' vice president of corporate development. "This collaboration further strengthens our program and underscores our commitment to forging alliances with companies that are leading the effort to provide affordable wireless data services that solve businesses' unique communications needs."
The Enterprise Solutions Partner program creates value-added relationships between WebLink Wireless and software developers, VAR's, systems integrators and other organizations focused on providing communication technology and services that improve the ways companies and employees do their jobs. The program, first announced in October 1999, uses WebLink Wireless' advanced wireless data network and includes companies such as Abstract Data Technologies, DMR Consulting Group, eLoyalty, Glenayre, Motorola, Telamon and Vitria Technology Inc. among it's 35 members.
