Glenayre, HiddenMind Team to Jump-start Two-way Wireless Apps

The idea of joining forces to strengthen two-way messaging continues as Raleigh, NC-based HiddenMind Technology Inc. and Charlotte, NC-based Glenayre Technologies Inc. have formed an agreement to offer two-way instant messaging and advanced interactive wireless messaging products to businesses and consumers. Under the terms of the agreement, the two companies will link HiddenMind's wireless communications platform, HiddenMessenger, with solutions for an @ctive World now being offered and developed by Glenayre.

This agreement is a logical step for both companies. It follows an early-November HiddenMind announcement (see HiddenMind Moves Forward With Accelerated Growth Plans) and a similar Motorola agreement (see Motorola, Glenayre Broaden Internet Messaging Efforts).

The advanced software applications will work for people in a wide range of industries, such as traders, salespeople, medical workers, insurance adjusters, and service professionals. In addition to implementing basic two-way instant messaging for consumer and business use, the new products will allow mobile users to interact with instant information, such as pricing, availability, and scheduling of products and services.

"When users are able to trigger meaningful activity from their wireless devices through messages and other real-time data, the true power of wireless data will be revealed," said Ken Tyra, president and CEO of HiddenMind. "The use of our advanced wireless software on the three ReFLEX networks enables HiddenMind and Glenayre to lead the growth of a new wireless data market that will provide customers with exceptionally useful applications."
