European Competitive Carriers to Use IT:seven Applications in Conjunction with GeoProbe

Inet Technologies, Inc. today announced that it has been awarded two contracts for its IT:seven business applications. Two European competitive carriers purchased the company's GeoCare and GeoConnect business applications in addition to the GeoProbe, Inet's carrier-class network monitoring solution. Inet's IT:seven product line is a suite of business applications that address interconnection billing and customer care/quality of service issues.

The IT:seven applications include interconnection billing for reciprocal compensation and minutes of use reconciliation, management of interconnection partners, and real-time quality assurance for key customers and revenue-generating dialed services. Both applications will be fueled by the real-time signaling data collected by the GeoProbe system.

"We are pleased to see increased momentum with our IT:seven suite of applications," said Elie Akilian, president and chief executive officer of Inet. "Competitive and incumbent carriers worldwide are looking for ways to improve network efficiency while maximizing revenue opportunities at the same time. Our IT:seven applications empower carriers to leverage the data collected from their signaling networks by turning it into new revenue or cost savings opportunities. The information also enables a carrier to be more proactive in the management of its interconnect partners."

Inet's GeoConnect, an interconnect billing application targeted for competitive and wireless carriers, provides detailed information regarding the usage of carriers' networks by interconnect partners. The information can be used to audit and verify bills received from other carriers as well as to bill interconnect partners for their actual minutes of use on the network.

GeoCare, focused on customer care and quality of service issues, provides carriers with detailed customer usage patterns as well as quality of service performance of interconnect partners. One new customer's specific challenge has been the real-time quality ranking of its many interconnect partners. Inet's GeoCare will help this customer meet its challenge by providing information to continuously validate that its customers' experiences are favorable as well as identify the interconnection carriers that are delivering inferior quality of service. This information provides the support required to effectively negotiate tariffs with interconnect partners.
