Kenny Irwin to Pilot BellSouth and BellSouth Mobility Chevrolets

BellSouth (Atlanta, GA) continues to get promotional mileage out of NASCAR racing's high-visibility status. During a recent press conference at the Atlanta Motor Speedway, Kenny Irwin signed a multi-year agreement to drive the BellSouth and BellSouth Mobility Chevrolets in the NASCAR Winston Cup and Busch Series.

Irwin will pilot the No. 42 BellSouth/Team SABCO entry for the full NASCAR Winston Cup season. He will also drive the No. 42 BellSouth Mobility/Team SABCO Busch Series Chevrolet in 16 events. Team Manager Tony Glover will serve as crew chief on both entries.

The Indianapolis, IN-native sat on the pole at the Richmond International Raceway in only his second NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series race in 1996. After posting two victories and 10 top-10 finishes the following year, Irwin earned another Rookie title and ended the season 10th in the final standings.

On the way to clinching the NASCAR Winston Cup Rookie of the Year honors, Irwin logged one pole, one top-five, and four top-10 finishes. This year, he enters the final event of the year with two poles, two top-five, and six top-10 finishes.
