LCC International launches Wireless Institute of LCC
LCC's training program has been a key element of the company's ability to attract, train, and retain the best and brightest RF engineering and network deployment talent in the wireless industry. The same technical curriculum, as well as the new and expanded courses that are taught and currently available to LCC's consultants will now be available to the public at large.
The Wireless Institute of LCC will offer a host of new certification programs in Wireless Engineering (levels I and II), Emerging 2.5/3G Technologies, Network Deployment (levels I, II, and III), Wireless Literacy for Decision-Makers and Non-engineers, and other areas. The certification programs, administered via an e-commerce center on several VerticalNet sites, will include regular public seminars in both Washington, DC, and London. These seminars will kick off simultaneously in late November 2000. The Institute, the first to offer a wireless engineering curriculum online, already offers a series of Internet-based courses through the RF Globalnet Web site.
Arno Penzias, a current LCC board member, a former Bell Labs Chief Scientist, and the 1978 Nobel Prize winner for Physics for his exciting discovery in connection with the big bang theory of the universe will launch the WI-LCC's new program on Oct. 24 by conducting a seminar on "Wireless: Outlook, Issues, Agendas."
The Wireless Institute of LCC has a rich history of educating wireless professionals on the latest technologies, business practices, and industry issues. In addition to the online courses, the Institute has taught over 2000 classes worldwide, many with simultaneous live interpretation into languages other than English.
The name change reflects the ever-expanding scope of the industry and the Institute's curriculum that now includes new courses on:
- 2.5G, 3G, and Broadband Wireless,
- Network Deployment,
- RF Safety,
- Wireless Literacy,
- Professional & Management Development, and more.
