Microsoft, InfoSpace.com Extend MSN Instant Messenger to Wireless Devices

Redmond, WA-based InfoSpace.com has integrated MSN's Instant Messenger with its instant messaging service. The service, available through the company's personal desktop portal, will give InfoSpace.com and MSN Instant Messenger users the ability to send and receive instant messages anytime, anywhere, and on any device. In addition, MSN Instant Messenger users will now have access to InfoSpace.com's comprehensive services.

For example, a sales representative who needs to be in constant communication with his clients may be out of the office and still be able to send and receive instant messages on his wireless devices, including his wireless phone, pager, personal digital assistant (PDA), or fax machine. The salesperson may receive an instant message from a vendor for an urgent change in a recent order. He can then send that change request in to the main office and reply to his vendor all within a single instant message and without the need to know where those people are or what device they may be accessing.
