The S40, a triple band Global System for Mobile Communications (GSM) mobile phone with Wireless Access Protocol (WAP) and High Speed Circuit Switched Data (HSCSD) functionality, has been introduced. It is a triple band phone, and is a true global companion with exceptional performance, high-end functionality, and a design that includes a galvanized front and a blue illuminated display. The phone is capable of high-speed Web browsing using WAP 1.1, enabling easy access to graphic-intensive Internet content or fast download of information on demand. It is also equipped to handle file transfers and synchronization of Microsoft Outlook calendar, address book, and notes.

Weighing 3.4 ounces, the phone is one of the smallest and lightest mobile phones in its class. The thin Lithium Ion (Li-Ion) battery lasts for up to 260 hours, with a talk time of up to 360 minutes. The phone comes with a travel charger, data cable and lithium-Ion battery. A wide range of accessories including a desktop charger, car charger, car kit, hands-free headset, and several carrying cases are all available for purchase.
