Ericsson, Inc.Mobile Switching Center (MSC) was built upon the AXE program. This platform is highly scalable from roughly 2,000 to 12,000 Erlangs. It is designed around the company's open architecture philosophy and supports Interoperability Specification (IOS) and ANSI-41 interfaces. A number of core software features offered in the AXE switch provide call control and call handling, roaming and signaling capabilities. Premium features include voice mail, sort messaging, and over-the-air activation.
