Motorola expands retail agreement with Best Buy
This department will provide consumers with an informative and interactive experience for purchasing wireless communication devices.
Best Buy's expanded wireless department will showcase the latest communications products, including cellular phones, two-way text messaging devices, one-way pagers and two-way radios.
As part of the agreement, Motorola signage will be prominently displayed both inside the department, as well as on end caps. Educational video loops and collateral materials supplied by Motorola will provide consumers with a greater depth of information. In addition, Motorola will provide ongoing education on Motorola products and technologies to Best Buy employees to help them better serve customers.
"Motorola's strong brand equity, breadth of product offering and technology leadership underline Best Buy's commitment to provide our customers with high-quality products and services that are easy to use and affordable," said Allen McClard, merchandise manager for the Best Buy Wireless area.
"We are pleased to collaborate with Best Buy in a venture that optimizes the purchasing experience for the consumer," said Iain Morris, senior vice president and general manager of Motorola's Personal Communications Sector North America Region. "The combination of Best Buy's consumer electronics experience and knowledgeable sales staff with Motorola's cutting-edge products and technology information will provide the ultimate buying situation for each customer."
With the launch of this nationwide program, Best Buy has doubled its allocation of floor space for wireless communication products, as well as prominently placing the department near the front entrance in most of Best Buy's 412 stores. The new Motorola merchandising is expected to be in place in most of these stores by mid-year.
