Network Synchronization Product

Datum Inc. - Timing, Test & Measurement SSU-2000e is a synchronization product that has a fully manageable, intelligent timing network element that allows international carriers to dynamically manage the reliability and performance of their core network synchronization.

The SSU-2000e is compliant with standards set by the European Telecommunications Standards Institute (ETSI) and by the International Telecommunication Union (ITU). It is well suited for stringent office environments, and reduces cost of operation, administration, maintenance and provisioning (OAM&P).

The flexibility and scalability of the SSU-2000e makes it ideal for the international data-/tele-communications convergent market. The quality of signal references is maintained by RealTimePlus performance-monitoring technology. SmarTimePlus technology automatically selects input references while maintaining the synchronization and signal integrity of the output. That output performance is enhanced with the SmartHoldover technology by increasing holdover stability. New modules are automatically reconfigured to previous settings with the AutoReconfigPlus technology.

The SSU-2000e integrates up to two redundant GPS primary reference source (PRS) modules. Specific holdover requirements are met with two redundant G.812 Type I to VI Rubidium and/or Quartz SynClockPlus modules.

The SSU-2000e's main unit provides up to 60 outputs with one-to-one protection. Four expansion units increase outputs to 400 with one-to-one protection. Modules are available to meet a broad range of signal types, including 2048 Kbit/s G.703/13 with Sync Status Messaging (SSM) to support self-healing networks.
