NextPhase Adds HughesNet Satellite Broadband Solutions To Its Portfolio

Anaheim, CA - NextPhase Wireless Inc. recently announced that the Company has signed a reseller agreement with Hughes Network Systems, LLC (Hughes). NextPhase will offer a range of HughesNet satellite broadband services that provide cost-effective connectivity to small businesses within the United States that currently do not have access to terrestrial-based alternatives.

Robert Ford, CEO of NextPhase, noted, "While WiMAX-ready wireless networks are significantly less capital-intensive to build out than wireline networks -- such as DSL, cable and fiber -- infrastructure costs have not yet fallen to the point where it becomes economically feasible to provide ubiquitous nationwide coverage. Nonetheless, recent studies have shown that even as economic development continues to expand into rural areas, there are still many small businesses that do not have readily available access to broadband alternatives."

By adding a range of satellite broadband solutions to its existing portfolio of wireless broadband connectivity products and services, NextPhase seeks to help solve connectivity issues for:

  • Prospective small business customers within the NextPhase national network footprint for whom NextPhase otherwise cannot provide connectivity services due to line of sight or interference issues, and
  • Prospective small business customers operating in areas outside of NextPhase's existing footprint where the aggregate market demand does not justify the expense for NextPhase to deploy a WiMAX-ready network.

Ford added, "With HughesNet small business plans starting at an affordable $99 per month and providing connectivity speeds of up to 2Mbps, we believe that we can capitalize on prevailing opportunities to expand our current market reach, grow our customer base in the markets we presently serve, promote greater awareness of the NextPhase brand, and leverage new customer relationships to market our full portfolio of integrated Internet, voice, video and managed services. Offering HughesNet services ensures that we have the nationwide capability to offer broadband connectivity solutions to those small companies in need, irrespective of where in the country they choose to operate their businesses."

Allen McCabe, assistant vice president of North America sales at Hughes, said, "We are very pleased that NextPhase will be offering HughesNet broadband satellite services to their small business market segment. This is a growing and important target market for Hughes and we look forward to a very beneficial relationship."

NextPhase is a member of FISPA, the Federation of Internet Solution Providers of America, which began in 1996 to represent the interests of Internet solution providers. The member companies provide a range of services including Internet Access, Web hosting, Web design, and an ever increasing number of other services which use the Internet to facilitate a solution.

At FISPA's annual showcase in October 2007, FISPA announced a nationwide agreement with Hughes for its member companies to resell HughesNet services which provides them with 100 percent coverage in their markets.
