The Pixo Internet Microbrowser 2.0 has been introduced. As a key component of the Pixo Platform 2.0, the microbrowser enables the delivery of valuable wireless services as well as access to the entire Web, with no proprietary gateways required. Operators can therefore reduce their network expenses and eliminate their concerns regarding browser and gateway interoperability. Since the microbrowser supports standard HTML and compact HTML (cHTML), content providers can also leverage their current Internet content to develop new, optimized services for wireless phones.

Designed for Internet Protocol-compatible networks (e.g., GPRS, CDMA 2000, EDGE) and current networks via Point-to-Point Protocol (PPP), the microwbrowser provides direct access to Internet services. As a result, there is no need to pass content through proprietary gateways or to convert content from HTML into another mark-up language. The microbrowser takes advantage of the increased bandwidth and "always on" nature of the new packet data protocols to enable next-generation applications.

The microbrowser offers several advanced features including support for color content, images, animated graphics, bookmarks, cookies, tables and forms, and Japanese character input. In addition, mobile commerce transactions are protected through the integration of end-to-end, SSL security. With a memory footprint of 150 KB of ROM, it allows wireless phone manufacturers to offer this functionality while maintaining their design and cost objectives.
