The new Timeport P935 is a web-connected mobile phone that can also function as a personal digital assistant. The wireless device has a full keyboard and is less than 4 inches wide and 3 inches deep. The screen can display text messages of up to nine lines of 29 characters without scrolling. With the backlight on, users can see the outlines of the keys and read the screen in a darkened theater.
With 4.5 MB of memory, this powerful two-way texting device, with the powerful Wisdom operating system, communicates wirelessly with one-way pagers, other two-way PICs, internet email and fax machines, and offers full-featured PIM applications.
The software upgrade for the device gives users the enhanced ability to control their communications with support for desktop synchronization, increased memory, improved PIM applications, IrDA capability, and significant usability improvement.
