The Adax ATM card is the perfect solution for the rapidly evolving telecoms wireless infrastructure market
The Adax ATM card is the perfect solution for the rapidly evolving telecoms wireless infrastructure market to 3G and beyond, where broadband signaling and higher bandwidth is needed. For example, the narrowband/broadband signaling product combination is the ideal foundation for the GGSNs and SGSNs required for GPRS systems. The ATM virtual channels provide higher bandwidth than the DS0's used with T1 or E1 connections. The SSCF/SSCOP NNI software, the ATM equivalent to MTP-2, makes more efficient use of link bandwidth. For example a single ATM board has the potential to carry voice and data channels for hundreds of wireless users in VCI/VPIs on the same OC3 link to the Base Tranceiver Station that is carrying the signaling data.
The ATM card is a dual port, clear channel, Asynchronous Transfer Mode controller for the CompactPCI and PCI bus. It compliments the established Adax Protocol Controller (APC) product line and enables integrators and OEMs to build high performance, complex systems with any mix of ATM, Frame Relay, X.25 and SS7 from one to 64 ports and this narrowband/broadband signaling product combination is ideal for the GGSNs and SGSNs required for GPRS systems, 3G networks and beyond.
Features
- Two T1/E1 or OC3/STM-1 interfaces provided through optional daughter cards.
- Multiple cards per system providing for highly flexible and completely scaleable solutions.
- A high speed on board 200 MHz RISC processor and 512 KB SRAM which support protocol processing and data buffering. SSCOP/SSCF (NNI) and SSCS software module.
- Frame Relay software module.
- Easy tracking of future changes to the ATM standards through software downloading onto the board during initialization. All of the functions of the Transmission Convergence Sublayer, the ATM layer, the Segmentation and Reassembly Sublayer and the Common Part Convergence Sublayer are included in the downloaded module. H.110 (cPCI) or MVIP (PCI) telco bus channels for connection of multiple ATM cards and integration of third party products.
- Optional twin 10/100 BaseT communications bus. Hot swap and hot plug capabilities for all active components in single rugged cPCI 6U form factor.
- Transparent field upgrades, without the host rebooting, saving downtime.
- PCIMG 2.1 cPCI and PCI 2.1 industry standard architecture compliant.
- Front or rear panel cPCI connectors, through optional rear transition module (RTM).
- Adax Avalanche proven and field tested high performance PCI bus engine, designed to give the host preferential access to the boards memory, supporting plug and play compatibility, 133 MBps bus variable length transfers and decodes addresses in a single bus cycle.
