Protocol Controller HDC - cPCI/PCI
The Adax HDC card sets new standards of performance for communications processors
The Adax HDC card sets new standards of performance for communications processors in wireless, telco, mobile IP, and advanced datacom applications. It is the ideal product to facilitate the development of the new class of Signaling Transfer Points, Base Station Controllers, Mobile Switching Centers, Next Generation Network Gateways and Base Transceiver Stations essential for today’s telecom networks. On board processors perform many thousands of transactions per second and provide effective bandwidth management, freeing up the host CPU for the applications. The HDC delivers these levels of performance without compromising reliability.
The HDC is a high-density, fully channelized, multiple protocol platform that provides a powerful and flexible single slot solution for next generation IN systems. The HDC is dynamically configurable and is capable of delivering a combination of up to 128 channels of SS7 MTP-2, LAPB/D, LAPF, LAPV5, X.25, Frame Relay or HDLC. A maximum of 32 of those 128 channels can be SS7 MTP-2. Multiple HDC cards can be installed together to provide a totally scaleable, cost effective solution.
Features
- Four T1/E1 interfaces provided through the ANC-QCX (Quad Circuit Exchange) daughter card.
- Multiple cards per system providing for highly flexible and completely scaleable solutions.
- On board RISC processor and Streams environment for local MTP-2 and LAPB/D protocol execution, reduces CPU overhead.
- Channelized HDLC processor, providing time domain multiplexing, buffer re-queuing and management, further reducing host CPU overhead and maximizing capacity to perform application functions.
- Up to 128 Channels of protocol processing for E1 and 96 channels for T1 per card.
- Up to 32 MTP-2 links per card.
- Dynamically configurable per port and per channel protocol assignment.
- Eight H.110 (cPCI) or MVIP (PCI) telco bus channels for connection of multiple HDC cards and integration of third party products.
- Optional twin 10/100 BaseT communications bus.
- Hot swap and hot plug capabilities in single rugged cPCI 6U form factor.
- Transparent field software upgrades, without host rebooting, saving downtime.
- PCIMG 2.1 cPCI and PCI 2.1 industry standard architecture compliant.
- Front or rear panel cPCI connectors, through optional rear transition module (RTM).
- Adax Avalanche proven and field tested high performance PCI bus engine, designed to give the host preferential access to the boards memory, supporting plug and play compatibility, 133 MBps bus variable length transfers and decodes addresses in a single bus cycle.
