These new media converters are fully compliant with IEEE802.3z and IEEE802.3ab Gigabit Ethernet standards. Each converter can either be operated as a standalone unit or to be installed on to a media converter chassis system. Network administrators can now extend Copper Gigabit Ethernet up to 500 meters with 1000Base-SX standard and 10Km with 1000Base-LX standard.
