Shanghai /PRNewswire/ - Quectel Wireless Solutions, a leading global supplier of Internet of Things (IoT) modules, announced that its LTE Cat 1 and Cat 4 modules have been certified for operation on Verizon's 4G LTE network.
"Earning Verizon certification marks a strategic milestone for Quectel in our constant pursuit of reliable LTE connectivity," said Delbert Sun, Quectel's Product and Marketing Director. "Also, it is crucial for our customers, as they will be able to avoid certain testing to quickly launch IoT terminals and solutions on the Verizon network."
Based upon Qualcomm's MDM9x07 modem, Quectel's EC21 and EC25 series feature cost-effective and high performance, and can support worldwide coverage of LTE and UMTS/HSPA+ networks.
The EC21 module delivers data rates of up to 10Mbps downlink and 5Mbps uplink, respectively, which makes it an ideal solution for IoT applications that do not require full LTE speeds or huge bandwidth, but emphasize the longevity and reliability of LTE networks, including security, fleet management, asset tracking and smart metering.
The Quectel EC25 module adopts 3GPP Rel.11 LTE technology and offers up to 150Mbps downlink and up to 50Mbps uplink data rates. The Cat 4 module can be employed in segments such as industrial PDA, rugged tablet PC, video surveillance and digital signage.
Both EC21 and EC25 series are backward-compatible with existing EDGE and GSM/GPRS networks, ensuring they can connect even in remote areas devoid of 4G or 3G coverage.
