The laminate-managanese lithium-ion rechargeable battery cells for applications in mobile communications such as cellular phones and wireless internet devices are suited for next-generation thin-form personal digital assistants (PDAs). The cells use a laminate film for battery casing, enabling small size and light weight. Because the battery cell content is the same as proven prismatic designs, the performance characteristics of manganese-prismatic cells are maintained.
