REMEC is a leading designer and manufacturer of high frequency subsystems used in the transmission of integrated voice, video and data traffic over wireless communications networks. Our products are designed to improve the capacity, efficiency, quality and reliability of wireless communications infrastructure equipment. We also develop and manufacture highly sophisticated wireless communications equipment integrated into tactical aircraft, satellites, missile systems and smart weapons. We manufacture products that operate at the full range of frequencies, RF, microwave and millimeterwave. By offering products that cover the entire frequency spectrum for wireless communications, we are able to address opportunities in the worldwide mobile wireless communications markets as well as the global fixed access broadband wireless markets.
Organization and Markets Served
REMEC is organized into three market-based operating groups and a manufacturing services group addressing primarily high volume production requirements. Our goal is for the manufacturing operation to operate in the microwave arena with superior performance comparable to the contract services business serving the computer marketplace. The three operating groups are: REMEC Space and Defense, REMEC Broadband Wireless, and REMEC Mobile Wireless. The fourth group is REMEC Manufacturing.
REMEC Space and Defense Group
A world leader in the design and manufacturing of both military and Space hardware. The REMEC Space and Defense Group offers a broad spectrum of RF / microwave products for space, electronic warfare, RADAR, missile and communications / navigation systems. Capabilities include integrated design, development and production of high quality RF and microwave components and subsystems. The Space and Defense Group includes REMEC Microwave and is certified to ISO-9001 and MIL-PRF-38534.
REMEC Broadband Wireless Group
The REMEC Broadband Wireless Group offers a broad spectrum of RF and microwave products for wireless access systems. Applications include point-to-point radios, point-to-point and point-to-multipoint wireless access systems, such as LMDS and MMDS, and low cost satellite ground terminals. REMEC Broadband Wireless Group companies include REMEC CSH, REMEC Magnum, and REMEC Wireless.
REMEC Mobile Wireless Infrastructure Group
The REMEC Mobile Wireless Infrastructure Group provides a full range of RF products for wireless and mobile basestations. REMEC's product range includes site equipment such as masthead amplifiers and OEM BTS equipment including filter and amplifier products. The REMEC Mobile Wireless Infrastructure Group includes REMEC Airtech, REMEC Q-bit, REMEC Site Solutions, REMEC Wacom, and REMEC Wireless.
REMEC Manufacturing Group
REMEC Manufacturing, the fourth REMEC group, employs concurrent engineering principles, statistical process control, continuous measurable improvement and employee training programs as the foundation for continued success in manufacturing reliable products. REMEC's production capability includes manufacturing of equipment for thick film, thin film, and soft substrate printed wiring boards. REMEC has a high volume microwave technology adapted automated surface mount assembly factory within REMEC Veritek. The group possesses a superior metal parts design and manufacturing capability with a competitively differentiating high volume metal fabrication center. REMEC is fully enabling our Costa Rica manufacturing center with all of the corporate-wide skills, processes and performance standards. In addition, each REMEC company possesses RF/microwave test, inspection and environmental test capability. REMEC's commitment to excellence is supported by certified ISO-9001 and ISO-9002 quality systems, and its defense quality is certified to MIL-PRF-38534 H and K.
