RIM, AvantGo form strategic alliance

WATERLOO, ON -- Research In Motion Limited (RIM), a world leader in the mobile communication market, and AvantGo, Inc., the leading provider of mobile infrastructure software and services, today announced a strategic alliance focused on delivering wireless Web-based data and corporate applications to Fortune 1000 customers. The companies also announced they will co-market existing and future products and services to enterprise customers and channel partners.

AvantGo's mobile business solutions enable enterprises to increase the return on their existing information technology investments by improving productivity and operational efficiency through the use of wireless devices. With RIM's ‘Always On, Always Connected' solutions, enterprises deploying AvantGo Enterprise solutions for business intelligence, sales force automation, supply chain management, patient care, field force automation and other corporate applications will enjoy mobile immediate access to Web-based data and applications using RIM's BlackBerry Wireless Handhelds.
