SmartServ Online expands operations to Europe

Transaction platform services provider SmartServ Online Inc. (Stamford, CT) plans to open overseas offices in London and Zurich. The company is focusing on establishing business units in the regions where the greatest opportunities for immediate business exist with telecommunications, financial, and e-commerce service providers. The company is also considering offices in France, Italy, Germany, and Spain. Robert Pearl, formerly the U.S.-based vice president in charge of alliances will assume the responsibilities of vice president, international development and will relocate to Zurich.

SmartServ is replicating its device-agnostic rendering technology and transaction management system to offer telecommunications providers and enterprise organizations a multi-channel advanced services platform. The platform provides a single connection for distributing advanced services across fixed, mobile, and ISP networks and routing transactions initiated from any device.

"In Europe, we have identified a mature audience of telcom providers and enterprise organizations who are in need of a single commerce platform solution that can distribute uniform services across multiple networks," said Robert Pearl. "The competitive advantage of our platform lies in SmartServ's experience in handling meaningful transactions that represent revenue."

The company's recent alliance with Hewlett-Packard gives its operations a global boost. The two companies are creating an always-on global services platform that will deliver new Web and wireless e-services worldwide. The service will include securities trading and trade order routing from any Web or wireless device straight through to all of the major stock exchanges worldwide. The platform will be offered through hosting service centers in every major financial hub worldwide and will enable delivery of global e-commerce transactions.
