New Orleans -- CTIA Wireless 2005 -- Summitek Instruments, Inc. has announced the addition of significant new capabilities to its OASIS software that lets users perform spectrum monitoring and interference identification tasks using standard spectrum analysers or equivalent RF receivers. In its latest release, Oasis now allows users to monitor and manage multiple sites remotely, resulting in considerable savings in response time and manpower overhead.

OASIS transforms an ordinary spectrum analyzer into a comprehensive spectrum management tool. It can be used to perform IM analysis studies, generate channel occupancy statistics, determine emission mask compliance, and other complex functions. The end result is improved network performance.

OASIS benefits a variety of existing and emerging issues, technologies, and applications including broadband over power lines, patient monitoring systems, homeland security, public safety interoperability, efficient spectrum utilization, and more.

"Oasis has always enabled users to save time and money by more efficiently using the capabilities of equipment they already own," Rick Hartman, managing director at Summitek Instruments, said. "Now with the ability to remotely monitor multiple sites through a TCP-IP network, network operators can respond instantly to a problem that may be many miles away, without waiting for an experienced systems analyst to get to the actual location of the occurrence, saving even more down time and maintenance costs."
