The APS-SS7 Driver is part of the Adax Protocol Software (APS) product range
The APS-SS7 Driver is part of the Adax Protocol Software (APS) product range. It supports Intelligent Network (IN) and general Wide Area Network (WAN) connectivity via the SS7 protocol.

Performance is in the Details
The APS-SS7 Driver runs the Adax APC boards and provides complete MTP level 2 data communication control conforming to the ITU, ANSI, TTC, BELLCORE, and AT&T versions of SS7. This includes signal unit formatting, transparency ("bit stuffing"), error recovery by two types of retransmission, error monitoring, sequence number control, link status control, fill in signal unit generation, and a high-speed HDLC transport mechanism.

The Adax APS-SS7 Driver performs all signal unit formatting, such as signal unit delimiting with flags, CK generation and detection, and zero bit insertion and deletion for transparency. The user can transmit and/or receive multiple MSU's because of APS-SS7's buffer management mechanism. Part of the buffer management is the APC board's on-chip dual channel DMA engine with one channel for receive and one channel for transmit.

The APS-SS7 Driver handles all error recovery using either Basic Error Recovery (BEC) or Preventive Cyclic Retransmission (PCR) methods as specified by the user. It also performs all sequence numbering as required in the SS7 specifications.
