Telcordia, SignalSoft to provide m-commerce solutions for network operators
Telcordia will integrate SignalSoft's suite of software products into its mobility services suite and its ISCP platform. The suite provides customers with a scaleable solution that combines network efficiency with increased service revenues, enables integration with a variety of network infrastructures, and reduces time-to-market for new services. The result is an enhanced offering that allows operators with IS-41 or GSM networks to deploy location-based services quickly and easily, including m-commerce offerings.
As part of its plans to add the location services to its ISCP platform, Telcordia will also integrate the products into its SPACE System, a component of the ISCP platform. The SPACE System enables network operators to create and customize their value-added services using the graphical SPACE service creation language, as well as Java programming language. Thus, operators are empowered to create their own location services and to location-enable existing ISCP-based enhanced mobile services.
Location-based services resident on the ISCP can be used from a mobile handset using the SS7 network, or from a WAP or Web browser using XML over an IP network.
Expanded services for mobile users
SignalSoft's local.info, location-sensitive billing, wireless 911, and location manager provide an expanded range of offerings to Telcordia's suite of mobility services. Local.info, an information-based product, is a key enabler of m-commerce services. It combines location with content to allow the delivery of personalized information to mobile users in proximity to their location. Location-sensitive billing helps network operators target new market segments by allowing them to charge different rates for individual geographic billing zones. The wireless 911 solution allows network operators to meet the FCC mandate for Phase I and seamlessly move into Phase II requirements. Location manager is an operating platform that provides a single interface between raw location data and multiple location applications.
