Telus Mobility offers free e-mail and PIM for wireless data customers

Toronto, Ontario-based Telus Mobility has debuted its i-Web Mail and Personal Information Management (PIM) services, offering customers e-mail access through their Web-enabled cellular phones. The i-Web Microbrowser customers in British Columbia and Alberta can now send, receive, reply, forward, and delete their e-mail. They can also access their existing Internet e-mail accounts.

In addition to wireless e-mail, i-Web Mail and PIM service also provide access to a multitude of other beneficial features including address book, calendar, scheduling, and e-mail notification. This new application was developed by Silicon Valley-based Phone.com.

The company's i-Web Microbrowser service enables customers to access e-mail, store addresses and appointments, trade stocks and bank online, and check weather, traffic reports, sport scores, and movie listings from an i-Web-compatible digital cellular phone. Additionally, the company's i-Web Mobile Computing enables customers to access a corporate local area network or the Internet from their laptop computer, using an i-Web compatible digital cellular phone.
