TOM Single
TOM is an effective tool for tracing wireless networks. TOM collects measurement results and geographical coordinates (when used with a GPS receiver) and stores them on a PC's hard disk. Measurement results provide useful information for network tuning, verification and maintenance purposes.
TOM offers various measurement options. With these different measurement options and hardware, different kinds of measurements can be carried out depending on the user's need. One of these options provides for fast frequency scanning receivers.
TOM uses licensed technology from Nokia Mobile Phones. The mobile used as a TOM test phone is a Nokia mobile telephone. The supported models (at the time of printing) are:
|
GSM 900 MHz/GSM 1800 MHz |
Nokia 6150 |
|
GSM 1900 MHz |
Nokia 6190 |
|
CDMA 800 MHz/CDMA 1900 MHz/AMPS |
Nokia 6185 |
|
TDMA 800 MHz/AMPS |
Nokia 6120 |
|
TDMA 800 MHz/1900 MHz/AMPS |
Nokia 6160 |
The single network version of TOM is used when only one network needs to be measured at a time. The measurement and analysis of the measured results provide useful information for network optimization/tuning, verification and maintenance.
