Tranzeo And Proximetry Collaborate On WiMAX And Wi-Fi Operation And Network Management Tool
The partnership integrates Proximetry's AirSync intelligent provisioning and management software with Tranzeo's comprehensive line of carrier-class Wi-Fi and WiMAX radios and leverages both companies' strategic investments in Wavesat chip technology. Tranzeo is architecting its WiMAX and Wi-Fi radios to create flexible, unified networks, and incorporating Proximetry's AirSync solution gives network operators a single but powerful tool that simultaneously monitors and manages all of the radios in their network.
"Tranzeo is in a unique position to be able to combine its Wi-Fi and WiMAX solutions and deliver the benefits of both technologies in one network," explains Tranzeo USA President Dave Gelvin, who oversees the company's WiMAX product line. "The integration of Proximetry's intelligent AirSync technology with our entire product line of broadband wireless equipment will simplify network deployments and reduce network management costs for national carriers as well as local WISPs."
Tranzeo offers a full spectrum of Wi-Fi access solutions and WiMAX equipment covering the unlicensed 5.8GHz band and the licensed 3.5GHz band.
"WiMAX is expanding beyond its traditional licensed-band, carrier applications," said Tracy Trent, Proximetry's chief executive officer. "Service providers of all types want the increased capacity, flexibility, and range of WiMAX-enabled solutions, and this is especially true for specialized networks catering to energy companies, municipalities, and other vertical markets. The combination of Tranzeo's products with AirSync allows WiMAX to be affordable for developing countries as they roll out next-generation broadband services."
Proximetry's AirSync continually monitors and optimizes all wireless connections in the network to enable maximum throughput, services, and end-user satisfaction. This approach of active monitoring and real-time adjustments assures that appropriate service levels are always met for all users. The result is a wireless network with the performance, scalability, and reliability typically found in carrier-class wireline networks. AirSync's intelligent provisioning aligns network resources to user and device priorities, makes dynamic bandwidth allocations to meet changing user demands, and uses predictive routing and resource configuration to maximize throughput. Dynamic configuration of network resources and assured bandwidth allocation are essential ingredients in delivering quality-of-service in today's increasingly complex wireless networks.
The two companies have been collaborating in multiple product areas with customers in various stages of lab and field trials. Tranzeo and Proximetry anticipate further product announcements and commercial deployments in the first half of 2008.
