University Of Tennessee At Chattanooga Upgrades To Aruba Networks For Reliable, Interference-Free Wireless Networking
Sunnyvale, CA - Aruba Networks, Inc., a global leader in wireless LANs and secure unified mobility solutions, recently announced that the University of Tennessee has selected and is deploying Aruba's adaptive wireless LAN and secure mobility solution at its Chattanooga campus. Originally founded in 1886 as Chattanooga University, the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga (UTC) today serves 9,000 students on a 101-acre metropolitan campus. The university's legacy single channel network could not be made to work reliably due to interference and issues with security features. Aruba demonstrated that its Adaptive Radio Management (ARM) and identity-based security technology could resolve both issues, and Aruba was awarded the replacement project.
"Before selecting Aruba we brought their system into two buildings in which our legacy network had issues, and the system worked right out of the box," said Robbie Reel, IT Administrator at UTC. "In terms of ease of use, ease of administration, locationing, and captive portal operation Aruba offered a better solution. Aruba also includes built-in features where other suppliers require add-on modules that have to be integrated together. Finally, Aruba's architecture is designed to scale, and that provides peace of mind since we are currently planning a 3x increase in the size of our network."
