Six new Partners join the MUSE Platform Partnership Program

Issy-les-Moulineaux, France -- Wavecom SA today announced that it has signed agreements with six new Open AT Partners under the MUSE Platform Partnership Program, bringing the total number of Partners to twelve. The new Partners include the Program's first Platinum Partner, Mobilized Workforce A/S.

Founded by Wavecom in February 2002, the MUSE Platform Partnership Program was established to create a worldwide "pool" of qualified application development resources on which Wavecom customers can draw, and to help developers promote applications based on Wavecom's MUSE Platform technology. Wavecom supports the Partners through the entire process of creating and marketing their wireless applications. The Program also provides the Partners with access to a developers community where they can share expertise, exchange software building blocks, and explore new market opportunities.

The Partners offer Wavecom customers existing applications or customised application development using Open AT, a MUSE Platform-based tool. Open AT enables developers to embed applications directly onto Wavecom's WISMO hardware platforms, thus eliminating the need for an external processor and associated memory. Open AT, of which Version 2.0 was launched in April this year, is offered as an option in Wavecom's four Development Labs for vertical markets: Automotive, M2M, Mobile Computing and PDA.

The six new members of the community are:

  • AIUT (Poland), which specialises in telemetry and control systems. AIUT has already developed a number of specific telemetry products using Open AT, including LPG meters and tank monitoring with GASPOL, industrial metering, and monitoring for environment protection.

  • Globalcom Engineering (Italy), which provides customised design, development and manufacturing of fixed-line (ISDN, PSTN) and wireless (GSM, Dect, Bluetooth) communication systems, remote data acquisition systems, supervision, alarm and emergency applications, payment terminals and applications, and access control and identification systems.

  • Linkwave Technologies Limited (United Kingdom), a distributor of electronic components, modules and sub-assemblies, serving a range of markets including M2M and automotive. By offering both a complementary product portfolio and technical support based on practical experience of design and manufacturing processes, Linkwave assists its customers to develop reliable, cost-effective solutions with reduced time to market.

  • Mobilized Workforce A/S (Denmark), a specialist in mobile Internet application and protocol software for the M2M market. As the first Platinum Partner in the program, the company is a preferred partner in EMEA (Europe, Middle East and Africa) for Wavecom, developing applications and protocols that will subsequently be incorporated into Wavecom's products or ordered by Wavecom's customers. Mobilized Workforce and Wavecom are working closely together to develop and market mobile solutions to M2M industry players.

  • Owasys (Spain), which is targeting the automotive markets, and designs, develops and manufactures advanced wireless terminals that enable the adoption of traditional wireless telephony in vertical markets and user groups. Applications include fleet management, automatic vehicle location (AVL), on-board telematics units and intelligent wireless data capture devices for industrial environments.

  • Total Control (Greece), which specialises in the field of complex Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) systems and provides customised design, development and implementation of M2M, telemetry, automation control, remote monitoring and data acquisition systems.

Olivier Beaujard, Marketing Director for Vertical Markets of Wavecom, said, "We're very pleased to welcome the new partners to the MUSE Platform community. All experts in their fields, they bring a wealth of application experience to the table, which will benefit Wavecom's customers as well as the existing program members. The fact that the program continues to grow in size and scope is a recognition of its success."
