Thomcast Communications Inc.ity" Multi Cell RF Base Station for service providers delivers 2-way IP data and voice services over the MDS, MMDS, WCS and WLL bands (1.8 to 3.6GHz) for domestic and international markets.

The Affinity Multi Cell Base Station includes:

  • Comwave SD-Series Discrete Channel Transmitters
  • Automatic Back-up Control SystemTransmitter SST (Sidelobe Suppression Technology)
  • Upstream Integrated Receivers
  • AffinityView SNMP Status Monitor and Control System
  • On-Site RF Headend Monitoring System

Components are packaged, factory-tested, and integrated to interface with both RF antenna systems and modem IF systems. The Affinity Base Station Family consists of both High-Power Super-Cell and Broadband Multi-Cell configurations, to service varying geographical areas and subscriber capacity requirements.

It provides output power up 200 Watts RMS, and features a wide downstream channel configuration capability (MMDS, WCS & MDS bands). Affinity Super Cell Base Stations have a flexible IF Interface configuration compatible with IF (standard), VHF/UHF or microwave (RF) off-air feeds. They allow operators to construct a single RF facility and cover large geographic areas of >35 miles radius.

Multi-Cell Base Station deployments are customized for service providers delivering IP data and voice services in geographical areas where additional capacity is required to permeate strategically located areas. They consist of downstream configurations (3 to 6 sectors typical), and feature frequency agility and convenient packaging (co-location at an existing PCS facility is achievable). Multi-Cell Base Stations are offered in 50mW to 10W RMS, providing cell site coverage of up to 7 miles radius.
